Terms & Conditions

1. Booking & Acceptance
1.1 Live Real trips are intentionally small, and every booking begins with a conversation. A booking is confirmed only once it has been accepted by Live Real and the deposit has been received.
1.2 Each guest must sign the Live Real Liability Waiver and Release of Claims before departure. Guests who have not signed the waiver will not be able to join the trip.

2. Price & Payment
2.1 The trip price is $10,000 per person.
2.2 A deposit of $5,000 per person is due at the time of booking.
2.3 The remaining balance of $5,000 is due 60 days before departure.
2.4 If the balance is not received by the due date, Live Real may cancel the booking, and the cancellation will be treated as a cancellation by the guest (see Section 4).

3. Group Confirmation
3.1 Each trip runs with a group of six guests.
3.2 If the group is not complete by 90 days before departure, Live Real will cancel the trip and refund all payments in full.
3.3 Once the group is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email with full trip details.

4. Cancellation by the Guest
4.1 Deposit: the deposit is non-refundable.
4.2 Exception for serious reasons: if you need to cancel because of a serious medical issue or another significant personal circumstance (such as a death in the family), your deposit may be converted into a credit toward a future Live Real trip. Supporting documentation may be requested, and approval is at Live Real’s discretion. A change of plans or change of mind does not qualify.
4.3 After full payment: payments are non-refundable. However, if Live Real is able to fill your place with another guest, the amount you paid will be converted into a credit toward a future Live Real trip.
4.4 Credits are valid for 24 months from the date of issue, are non-transferable, and have no cash value.

5. Transfer of a Booking
5.1 You may transfer your place to another person, subject to approval by Live Real. The new guest must accept these Terms & Conditions and sign the Liability Waiver before departure.

6. Cancellation by Live Real
6.1 If Live Real cancels a trip for any reason, including events beyond our control such as natural disasters, pandemics, war, terrorism, or government travel restrictions, all payments will be refunded in full.
6.2 Where possible, alternative dates will also be offered.
6.3 Live Real is not responsible for costs guests have incurred separately, such as flights, additional hotel nights, or visas. This is one of the reasons we strongly recommend travel insurance.

7. Changes to the Itinerary
7.1 Live Real may adjust routes, accommodations, or activities when needed for safety, weather, or operational reasons.
7.2 When a change is unavoidable, we will replace it with an experience or service of comparable quality.

8. What’s Included
8.1 Included: Airport Pickup, 8 nights in two unique countryside properties, three meals per day, local & traditional only, all activities and excursions, all transportation throughout the trip, Hotel near to the airport on departure night.
8.2 Not included: international flights, travel insurance, personal expenses, and anything not listed as included.

9. Travel Insurance
9.1 We strongly recommend travel insurance covering trip cancellation, interruption, and medical emergencies.
9.2 Live Real is not responsible for losses resulting from a guest’s choice not to purchase insurance.

10. Guest Responsibilities
10.1 Health & fitness: this trip includes hiking, including at high altitude, boat travel, and time on mountain roads. Guests must disclose relevant medical conditions in advance and are responsible for ensuring they are fit to take part.
10.2 Travel documents: guests are responsible for valid passports, visas, and any entry requirements for Italy and Switzerland.
10.3 Conduct: our hosts welcome us into their homes, cellars, and kitchens on trust. Live Real may remove a guest whose behaviour puts others at risk or seriously disrupts the group, without refund.

11. Liability
11.1 Participation is voluntary, and travel involves inherent risks, including accidents, illness, and injury.
11.2 Many services are provided by independent third parties (hotels, restaurants, drivers, boat operators, guides, and activity providers). Live Real is not responsible for their acts or omissions.
11.3 The full terms of assumption of risk and release of liability are set out in the Live Real Liability Waiver and Release of Claims, which each guest signs before departure.

12. Photos
12.1 Live Real may take photos during the trip and use them on its website and social media. If you prefer not to appear, just let us know.

13. Governing Law
13.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.
